GIL 165 Instrumentation, Process and Control Essentials (5 DAYS)
OVERVIEW:
The training program focuses on the concepts and characteristics associated with industrial processes, process variables and Basic process control. Participant will have hand-on experience with a simple control system as well as process and controller simulators.
The class training will be complemented by class workshops, discussion on industry best practices and ISA videos on Instrumentation, Process and Control. Students will be issued a certificate at the end of the training.

Personnel involved in design, installation, operation and maintenance
PREREQUISITES:
No requirements.

Basic Automatic Control
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate between a System and a Process
- Differentiate between an open system and a Closed System
- Identify the various component of a Control loop
- Define the function of a controller in a process loop
- Describe the function of integral and Derivative control
- Identify different type of instruments and the function of instrument symbols
- Use instrumentation symbols to interpret a simple loop on an instrumentation diagram
- Observe safe practices in dealing with Instruments
