OVERVIEW:

In all process industries, Valves, Pumps and compressors form major backbone instrument for all activities. Process controls, pressure generation/distribution, pneumatic actions and a whole lot of others are the sole responsibilities of these instruments. For the purpose of this course, we shall look at the principle of operation and maintenance of Valves, pumps and compressors one at a time. The training will be in three modules. Each module will treat one of the three instruments.

PREREQUISITES:                                                                                 

GIL165 (Instrumentation, Process and Control Essentials) or Equivalent relevant experience

• Ø Classifications of valves.
• Ø Valve selection, sizing and  Maintenance.
• Ø Types of Pumps and their Functions
• Ø Trouble shooting and maintaining a pump
• Ø Principles of operations of compressor          
• Ø Types of Compressors and their Functions               
• Ø Trouble shooting and maintaining a pump

• Ø Maintain and troubleshoot valves.
• Ø Know principles of operations of Pumps.
• Ø Know principles of operations of compressor.
• Ø Know the functions of compressor.
• Ø Maintain and troubleshoot compressors.
