GIL 215 PLC Automation II: Design & Implementation I                                          (5 DAYS)

OVERVIEW:

This course presents a design and implementation of a monitoring and control system for devices (e.g. three-phase induction motor) based on programmable logic controller (PLC) technology. Also, the implementation of the hardware and software (for example speed control and protection) with the results obtained from tests on induction motor performance is provided. This class aims to introduce the principles of operations, maintenance techniques, basic troubleshooting techniques and thorough understanding of overall machine design concepts using PLCs. Participants will have hands-on experience with PLC and carry out demo projects on live PLCs as well as simulators. The class training will be complemented by class workshops, discussion on industry best practices and ISA videos on PLCs. Students will be issued a certificate at the end of the training.

TRAINING FOR:

Personnel involved in design, installation, operation and maintenance of PLC control systems
