GIL 265 Instrumentation, Process and Control II                                                   (5 DAYS)

OVERVIEW:

The training program focuses on the advance concepts and characteristics associated with instruments, process variables and Automatic process control. Participant will have hand-on experience with a simple control system as well as process and controller simulators.

The class training will be complemented by class workshops, discussion on industry best practices and ISA videos on Instrumentation and Process Control. Students will be issued a certificate at the end of the training.

TRAINING FOR:

Personnel involved in design, installation, operation and maintenance

PREREQUISITES:

Instrumentation, Process and Control Essentials,

Among others, you will cover:

  • Ø Introduction to process control
  • Ø Automatic Control System Principles
  • Ø Reset of Integral Action
  • Ø Rate of derivative action
  • Ø Multiple control modes
  • Ø Typical Negative feedback control schemes
  • Ø Industry best practices

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the working principle of measure instruments
  • Explain how devices generate a differential pressure signal
  • State the effect on the flow measurement in process with abnormalities
  • Identify the controlled and manipulated variables
  • Sketch a simple block diagram and indicate set-points
  • Choose the controller action for corrective control
  • State which combination of the control modes will most likely be found in typical control schemes
  • Sketch a typical control scheme for level, pressure, flow and temperature applications
