OVERVIEW:

Historians can acquire plant or process data from virtually any type of automated control system or other source. Historians can store an almost limitless amount of historical data, at its original resolution, virtually forever.

Learn the basics of Plant Historians and fundamentals of alarm management through to advanced high level alarm design in this new Plant Historians and advanced alarm management training course. The class training will be complemented by class workshops, discussion on industry best practices and videos on Plant Historian and Alarm management system. Students will be issued a certificate at the end of the training.

TRAINING FOR:

Automation/ controls Engineers etc, Beginners in OPC usage and systems integrators.

PREREQUISITE:

An understanding of plant control systems working within the process control industry. 

Among others, you will cover:

  • Alarm Management Concepts & Tools; Historian System, Equipment tagging etc
  • Control System Lifecycle and Strategic Planning
  • Alarm Management Assessment and Ongoing Maintenance Techniques
  • Alarm Analysis, Alarm Design, Rationalization and AOA meetings
  • Control Room Design and Graphic Display Standards
  • State-Based Alarming, Model-Based Alarming and Predictive Alarming   
  • Ø Other Advanced Alarm Techniques                                                                  

Learning Environment

The Advanced Alarm Management Course is held within a computer lab where each participant is given dedicated use of a computer for the duration of the course. The course is comprised of presentations, examples, demonstrations and hands-on exercises. Participants are encouraged to discuss current alarm and event issues they face at their own plant and can bring a sample of their alarm data for analysis (confidential).
