Description
Triple IR Detection for Hydrocarbon and Hydrogen Fires
The Honeywell FS24X Plus uses WideBand IR technology to detect hydrocarbon and hydrogen fires. Designed for hazardous industrial locations, it combines rapid response, multiple system outputs and advanced diagnostics to support flame monitoring in demanding environments, including low-visibility conditions caused by rain, fog or smoke.
Clear Status. Practical Diagnostics.
A high-visibility, multi-colour LED halo ring indicates instrument status from up to 15 metres away. FlameManager software supports configuration, diagnostics and review of recorded FirePics events, while window-clarity diagnostics help teams identify conditions that affect detector performance.
Key Features
- Triple infrared sensing for a wide range of hydrocarbon fires and hydrogen fires.
- Typical response time of 5 seconds; published maximum response time of 10 seconds under specified test conditions.
- 4–20 mA, relay, HART and MODBUS outputs supplied as standard.
- Three relay outputs for alarm, fault and auxiliary functions.
- Event logging for up to 5,000 events and ten 30-second FirePics records.
- Sunshade and standard or marine mounting bracket included, depending on the selected configuration.
- Aluminium with marine-grade paint or 316 stainless-steel enclosure options.
- IP66/IP67 and Type 4X ingress protection.
Detection Range and Power
- Published detection range up to 60 metres for a 0.1 m² n-heptane fire at the Very High sensitivity setting.
- Other published sensitivity settings: Low 15 metres, Medium 30 metres and High 45 metres under specified test conditions.
- Power supply: 18–32 VDC, nominal 24 VDC.
Detection distance and response depend on fuel, fire size, sensitivity, viewing angle and site conditions. Do not apply the n-heptane range to every fuel or installation.
Typical Applications
Oil and gas pipelines and pumping stations, tank farms, chemical processing and storage facilities, aircraft hangars, power plants, turbine and compressor enclosures, and facilities handling solvents or liquefied gases.
Select the Right Configuration
This listing describes the FS24X Plus range, not a single orderable part number. The range includes SIL 2 certification and marine approvals; confirm their scope, hazardous-area approvals, mounting option, cable entries and suitability against the selected model and current safety and technical documentation. The FS24X Plus is distinct from earlier FS24X models.
