Description

Pumped Multi-Gas Detection for Confined-Space Sampling

The Honeywell BW Ultra is a portable multi-gas detector designed for sampling and monitoring confined spaces before and after entry. With an internal sampling pump, a large display and an ergonomic handheld profile, it helps teams obtain clear gas readings while carrying out their monitoring procedures.

Monitor Up to Five Gas Hazards

The range supports oxygen, combustible gas, hydrogen sulphide and carbon monoxide monitoring, with an additional sensor option for a selected gas hazard. Four-gas and five-gas configurations are available; coverage depends on the sensors fitted to the selected model.

Key Features

  • Built-in pump for remote air sampling, with a published sampling distance up to approximately 23 metres using suitable sampling equipment.
  • Large dot-matrix display with a clear layout of gas readings.
  • Single-button operation and an ergonomic profile for handheld sampling.
  • Audible 95 dB, visual and vibrating alarms.
  • Low, high, STEL, TWA and over-limit alarms, where applicable.
  • Hole Watch mode for monitoring tasks.
  • Honeywell TouchConnect technology for instrument management.
  • Bluetooth connectivity for use with compatible Honeywell connected-worker tools.
  • IntelliDoX compatibility for bump testing and calibration.
  • IP66/IP68 ingress protection.

Sensor Options Across the Range

Additional sensor options include VOC, carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, ammonia, hydrogen, chlorine, nitrogen dioxide, hydrogen cyanide and nitric oxide. Confirm availability, compatibility and measuring range for the exact part number. One detector does not monitor every gas listed simultaneously.

Technical Highlights

  • Operating temperature: −20°C to +50°C.
  • Weight: approximately 411 grams.
  • Dimensions: approximately 14.8 × 8.5 × 4.0 cm.
  • Published battery runtime: approximately 14–18 hours, depending on configuration; 14 hours with PID or IR sensor configurations.
  • Data logging: 45 days based on eight-hour shifts and 15-second logging intervals.

Important Sensor Selection Note

The optional infrared LEL combustible-gas sensor cannot detect certain combustible gases, including hydrogen and acetylene. Review the target hazards and select appropriate sensors before specifying the instrument. Sampling time, tubing suitability, bump testing and calibration must follow the current user manual and site procedures.

Select the Right Configuration

This listing describes the BW Ultra range, not a single orderable part number. Confirm the fitted sensors, required approvals, sampling accessories, docking equipment and included items against current technical documentation. A detector alone does not establish that a confined space is safe to enter.
